Calling all counselors! We’ve got something special to look forward to in NextGen.
Introducing, the BRAND NEW Counseling Management page! This is a new centralized location for counselors to oversee their students, manage counseling session information, view analytical dashboards, and more. As Aeries continues to support our counselors, this will be something you can look forward to in NextGen!
We are over-the-moon excited to share the great news with you. Here are some features our dear counselors can look forward to…
On the management page, there will be a Counseling Session (record) grid capable of searching all students, but the default of the grid will display the students specifically assigned to you as a counselor. Capabilities of a session such as Add, Edit, and Delete may look upgraded, but are available on this page just as you would access them on the Student Counseling Page. There will also be a Counseling Management Dashboard. This is an awesome area where counselors can see analytical graphs and information about where they are spending their time and with whom. You will also be able to assign a student or multiple students to a counselor from this page.
The Management page will have a My Tasks area where any action items you have set for a session, such as to notify parents, will be displayed and can be marked as complete. When viewing the page the student’s name will be used as a link to get to their Student Information Page, as well as the option to go to the Student’s Counseling page and view the session details. The Student’s Counseling Page will be enhanced with a new search grid that will make the display and filtering of data a great user experience.
For each Counseling Session, we have added some enhancements! A record can be added from anywhere in Aeries by simply clicking the Counseling Session icon. “Come Fly with Me” is more than a Frank Sinatra song; in Aeries NextGen you’ll be able to keep your Counseling Session open as you navigate through Aeries, essentially allowing that session to travel with you. When adding a session the system will be smart enough to tell if you are already viewing a particular student and populate that student’s data in the appropriate fields. Yes, if you are the one creating the record, your name will populate in the designated field. If you want to change to a different student or to access more than one student, we’ve got you covered. This will make group counseling much easier to document.
Security is very important and we want our users to feel confident when using their Counseling Session documentation. Counselors will be able to manage access to Counseling Session data based on the session types so that sensitive information about a student is safeguarded at all times. You’ll be able to share these sessions, based on permissions, with those you deem appropriate.
The Note section of a session is your place to document information. In Aeries NextGen we’re making it easier than ever, with the ability to take screenshots of an Aeries page. The link to the page where the screenshot was taken will automatically be attached so you can quickly reference it again. We’ve even added an area to create Session Templates to make note-taking more consistent for counselors and to help guide conversations. Documents can be added to a Counseling Session in NextGen as well. You saw that right, Doc-u-ments. You got ’em, we’ll store them and attach them to a counseling session.
